Celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Sri Adi Sankaracharya
Adi Sankara Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of the great sage and spiritual luminary, Sri Adi Sankaracharya, the revered proponent of Advaita Vedanta philosophy. Born at Melpazhur Mana in Kerala over two millennia ago, Sri Sankara is hailed as a saint, philosopher, poet, commentator, and a social reformer who brought about a profound transformation in Indian spirituality.
The Life and Legacy of Sri Adi Sankara
Sri Adi Sankara’s contributions are immeasurable. He revived and spread the ancient teachings of the Upanishads, propagated the philosophy of Advaita Vedanta, and established the concept of non-duality (the oneness of the individual soul with the Supreme). His influence was so profound that the history of India can be divided into two periods: Pre-Sankara and Post-Sankara.
On this auspicious day, we gather to celebrate his life, teachings, and divine presence with special prayers and rituals at Adi Sankara Nilayam, Ernakulam, Kerala.
