Maha Shivaratri 2022

Maha Shivaratri is an annual festival celebrated in honour of Bhagawan Shiva. This festival marks the remembrance of overcoming darkness and ignorance in one’s life and the world. It was on this day that Lord Shiva drank the Kalakuta poison that emerged during the Samudra Manthan, to save the earth and its inhabitants. Thus, the festival resonates the compassion, love and grace of the Bhagawan towards His devotees.

Chinmaya International Foundation will celebrate Maha Shivaratri at Adi Sankara Nilayam (maternal birth-home of Sri Adi Sankaracharya) on 1 March 2022 with Chatur Yama Puja. In each Yama of the night, Sri Samba Parameswara will be worshipped with Rudrabhisheka, Shodashopachara Puja, Chantings and Bhajans. Panchakshari and Rudra Homa shall also be performed to invoke the grace and blessings of Sri Parameswara.

We invite all devotees to be a part of this worship and be blessed by Bhagawan.

This puja will be LIVE streamed through on Chinfo Channel (YouTube) from 7:00 PM to 2:00 AM IST. On this auspicious occasion, you can participate by offering pujas online.
