Each year Pu. Guruji’s birthday becomes a festival rather than just a celebration! This year the day began with Ganapati Homam in the early morning hours at the Chinmaya Swayambhu Ayyappa Temple in the Temple complex at Adi Sankara Nilayam. Lord Ayyappa was showered with abhishekam; while prayers and archanas were offered to the other deities.

Worshipping the Guru’s paduka is a sure way of ensuring His blessings. This year, the Yajamans, Sri N M Sundar and Smt Arundhati Sundar, offered the paduka-puja led by Pt. Bikash at Gurudev’s Shrine.

Swamini Niranjanananda fondly recalled her experiences with Pu. Guruji and expressed how Pu. Guruji always showered love on and all.

32 students and teachers of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kannamaly joined the celebrations at Adi Sankara Nilayam along with the residents from the neighbourhood, devotees, CIF family (staff members and sevaks). The celebrations ended with Chuttuvilakku (lighting 1008 oil-lamps around the temple) and bhajan-sandhya at the illam.
